President Mahama takes “Thank You Tour” to North East Region today

President John Dramani Mahama will launch his official Thank You Tour in the North East Region on Friday, June 13, 2025, in appreciation of the resounding support he received in the December 7 general elections.

The visit marks the beginning of a nationwide tour aimed at acknowledging the electorate’s trust and reconnecting with communities that were instrumental to his electoral victory.

Mr. Mahama is scheduled to meet with traditional authorities, community leaders, and residents during his stay. The central event will take place at the Nalerigu Astroturf, where a large crowd is expected to gather in celebration and solidarity.

Organisers say the tour is not only an expression of gratitude but also a reaffirmation of the President’s commitment to inclusive development and people-centered governance. It offers a platform for direct engagement, allowing Mr. Mahama to hear firsthand the hopes and concerns of the people.

“The North East Region holds a special place in this journey,” an aide said, describing the region as one of the President’s strongest support bases.

This opening leg of the Thank You Tour sets the tone for similar visits across the country in the coming weeks, as Mr. Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) seek to deepen ties with grassroots supporters and chart a responsive path forward.

Further details of his itinerary in the region will be released in the days ahead.
