Three persons sustained injuries from the car crash Three persons sustained injuries from the car crash

Three persons have sustained major injuries following a tragic car accident on the Mpasatia-Kumasi highway, dailyguidenetwork.com reports.

According to the report by dailyguidenetwork.com on Monday, June 9, 2025, the accident involved two private vehicles: a Mitsubishi with registration number GR-8038-25 and an Opel Astra bearing registration number AS-520-15.

Providing details of the incident, an eyewitness stated that the crash occurred at a section of the highway with limited visibility, leading to the collision.

The report further noted that the impact was so intense that both vehicles were badly damaged, creating a chaotic scene that attracted a large crowd.

Residents and passersby rushed to the scene to assist the victims before they called the emergency unit.

The Ghana Police Service later arrived at the scene and aided in rescuing the injured individuals from the mangled vehicles.

The unidentified victims have been transported to the Frimpong Boateng Medical Centre in Toase for treatment.

The authorities have reported that the victims are currently stable but in critical condition.

The authorities suspect the collision may have occurred due to over speeding.

However, a comprehensive police report is still pending.

Officials are urging motorists to exercise caution and strictly follow traffic regulations, especially on high-risk roads such as the Mpasatia-Kumasi highway.

This latest crash adds to the growing number of road accidents reported in the Ashanti Region in recent months.

Community leaders are calling on the Department of Urban Roads and the Ministry of Transport to take swift action by enhancing road safety measures.

Proposed interventions include the installation of improved signage, speed bumps, and an increased police presence to curb reckless driving and prevent further tragedies.
