Baffour Kwaku Amoateng IV is Chief of Jachie
At the grand 90th-anniversary celebration of the Jachie Central Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church, Baffour Kwaku Amoateng IV, Otumfuo Brempong and Chief of Jachie, delivered a powerful message on the importance of respecting the law.
Addressing a congregation that included dignitaries, church members, townsfolk, chiefs, pastors, and business leaders from across the region, the chief emphasised that upholding the laws of the land fosters freedom and security for all citizens.
In his keynote address, Baffour Kwaku Amoateng IV reminded attendees that traditional authorities also have regulations in place to protect community lands and properties—just as God has established laws for humanity to follow.
He also cautioned the youth against disrespectful online behaviour, particularly the use of social media to insult elders and leaders, warning of serious consequences. In addition, he condemned the abuse of substances such as “red,” tramadol, and marijuana, lamenting that these drugs often lead to erratic behaviour and a disregard for consequences.
Following the chief’s remarks, the District Pastor of the Jachie SDA Church, Pastor Sylvester Opoku Agyemang, highlighted the church’s achievements over the past nine decades, especially its role in promoting education and establishing schools. He also outlined the church’s vision for the future, including plans to develop a retreat centre to support its spiritual and community-based activities.
Pastor Agyemang reaffirmed the church’s commitment to expanding its impact in the areas of education, healthcare, scholarships, and charitable donations—benefiting both the local community and the broader nation.
He further addressed public concerns regarding the alleged misuse of church funds, stressing that the SDA Church operates with transparency and accountability, ensuring that resources are used effectively to benefit all members and the community at large.
The 90th-anniversary celebration highlighted the church’s remarkable contributions to the Jachie community and beyond—spanning moral transformation, education, healthcare, charity, and societal development. It stood as a testament to the enduring legacy of the Jachie SDA Church and its mission of faith, service, and community upliftment, inspiring continued dedication for generations to come.
