A Ghanaian pastor has emphasized the importance of parental discipline in shaping children’s behavior, urging parents to take full responsibility for guiding their children when they misbehave.

According to the pastor, parents should be strong enough to discipline their children who are not willing to face realities in life.

He attributes this to children having unrealistic expectations and engaging in negative behaviors, such as girls spending excessively on beauty products and guys resorting to scamming and other illicit activities.

He noted that parents should know the whereabouts, conditions, and state of their children, addressing issues affecting family members and concerns through regular family meetings.

According to him, children need to be trained to be respectful and obedient, as they won’t naturally exhibit these traits without guidance. He stressed that Christian parents should embark on a spiritual journey with their families, sharing the word of God with every member.

“Mothers should strike a balance between discipline and leniency, being firm yet loving and fair. They should spend quality time with their children, engaging in activities that promote bonding and happiness. By doing so, parents can help their children develop into responsible, morally upright individuals,” he emphasised.
