There are certain things we could not do right, we apologise – NPP to Ghanaians

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has issued a heartfelt public apology on behalf of the party, admitting to governance lapses during its time in office and promising a renewed commitment to do better should Ghanaians give them another mandate.

Speaking candidly in a recent media engagement, Kodua acknowledged that the NPP, despite its efforts, did not get everything right during its tenure in government.

“As a political party, certainly we did our best, but we couldn’t have gotten everything right,” he said. “And I have always said that on behalf of our then government, our political party — certain things that we could not do right — we apologise for it.”

The NPP, which exited office following its defeat in the 2024 general elections, has since entered a phase of deep reflection and rebuilding. Kodua noted that this period is allowing the party to regroup and prepare to better serve Ghanaians in the future.

“As a party, we are always ready to learn and make sure that when we come back to power, the good things that we did we will build on. And those mistakes that we made — we will not repeat those mistakes,” he stated.

Kodua’s remarks are being viewed as part of the NPP’s broader rebranding and reform strategy ahead of the 2028 elections.
