NPP Deviates from Its Traditions and History

The soul of the NPP needs liberation from cartels that have turned this beautiful tradition into a label, and exploiting it by all means to keep power.

In 1993 and 1995, the late Da Rocha spoke about current happenings and why they should be avoided.

In the run up to 2014 internal elections, the late Jake proposed a similar top-down approach and was quickly shot down. He subsequently lost the elections miserably as a result. Maybe we haven’t learned from the mistakes and history, but, again it may also be that one cartel is using all means to control power in NPP.

A recent research is pointing out that the party is losing out on quality human resources due to the formations of these cartels and key people are staying off and refusing to offer their presence/availability to the service of the party as a result of fear of attacks from these supposed carts.

In my candid opinion and as student of politics, I reserve the right to say that the “Top-down” approach as proposed is in bad faith and violates the traditions of the party (now Label). How Justin Kodua Frimpong Justin Kodua Frimpong will preside over this and still win his re-election as Gen-Secretary will be a herculian task, almost unsurmountable. You may be a weak Secretary but it shouldn’t have been demonstrated in this manner.

What is more, the fear that one candidate may win or lose is a warp logic. If a certain candidate is strong, and popular, no matter the approach (topdown or bottom-up), will still win the primaries, and for NEC to bend or burn the rules either in favour or against is the most silliest of choice and decision to make. Excuse me!

To succeed, the NPP must respect it’s tenets, do away with these cartels and revolutionarize the system. It might be tough but it’s doable and should be done!!

To my fellow youth, let’s take action and change this course and revert to our tradition. It’s a call!!

The voice of Conscience.
