Africa World Airlines has announced the commencement of scheduled flights to Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina Faso, from July 1, 2025.

This was captured in a notice released on the airline’s social media platform.

The notice was to update the public, after it had earlier this year announced that it would commence the service from June 3, 2025.

The airline added that it remains committed to providing a reliable air travel and enhancing connections across West Africa.

It welcomed passengers on this very important new service.

Schedule Routes and Cities

Africa World Airlines currently operates in five cities in Ghana; namely Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, Takoradi and Wa.

It  also  serves Lagos and Abuja in Nigeria, Monrovia in Liberia as well as Freetown in Sierra Leone as part of its West Africa operations.

The airline has also announced that it is working to expand its operations to Côte d’Ivoire soon, with the dream of connecting Africa with the rest of the World.

Africa World Airlines emphasised that it is on course to becoming the “leading airline in Africa, delivering a world-class service”.

Africa World Airlines and Operations

Africa World Airlines commenced its first revenue flight on the 21st of September 2012.

The airline has consistently seen growth in both frequencies of flights and route network making it profitable.

It is a privately owned airline incorporated on the 15th of November 2010.

It became a full member of IATA in 2017 and is also IOSA certified.
