President John Dramani Mahama will welcome His Majesty King Mswati III, Ingwenyama of the Kingdom of Eswatini, to Ghana next week for a four-day state visit aimed at deepening diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two nations.

A statement from the Presidency announced that the royal visit will take place from Tuesday, June 24 to Saturday, June 28, 2025.

King Mswati III is expected to arrive in Accra on Tuesday, June 24, where he will be officially received at the Jubilee House.

He will then engage in high-level bilateral talks with President Mahama and senior members of the Ghanaian government. The discussions are expected to culminate in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to solidify cooperation between Ghana and Eswatini.

Later that day, the Eswatini monarch will visit the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat in Accra to explore opportunities for intra-African trade and regional integration.

Following his engagements in the capital, King Mswati will travel to Kumasi, where he will be the honoured guest of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

While in the Ashanti regional capital, King Mswati’s itinerary includes visits to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and the Manhyia Palace Museum. He is also scheduled to address the National House of Chiefs and will be the centre of a grand durbar of traditional leaders to be held in his honour at the Manhyia Palace.

A royal banquet in Kumasi will cap the evening of Friday, June 27, as a gesture of friendship and cultural celebration.

On Saturday, June 28, the final day of his visit, King Mswati III will join the Asantehene for a special ceremony at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) before departing Ghana.

The Presidency noted that the King’s visit is expected to reinforce bilateral relations between Ghana and Eswatini, while also celebrating the shared cultural heritage and traditional leadership values that unite the Asante Kingdom and the southern African nation.
