Scores of corporate bodies who have registered to participate in the 2025 Ghana China Business Summit slated for Monday, June 23rd to Friday, June 27, are ready to set up their corporate exhibition stands at the Labadi Beach Hotel venue for the summit.
Some of the corporate bodies who are ready to mount their decorated exhibition booths include Engineers and Planners, Ghana Exim Bank, Dzata Cement, Fidelity Bank, FT Global and MAC Ghana.
Staff of other corporate bodies were spotted at the Labadi Beach Hotel in the early hours of Saturday, June 21, working diligently on their exhibition booths as well.
The general theme for the summit is “Synergising opportunities: Strengthening the Ghana-China business relationship and fostering a 24-hour economy.”
In a statement issued by the Communication Department of the Ghana China Business Summit secretariat, it was explained that some classified corporate bodies have been allocated exhibition booths to display their products and services as part of the side attractions of the summit.
The summit is being organised by the Government of Ghana through the office of the Chief of Staff, in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, and the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Shandong and Beijing.
Other partners are Perfect World Company Limited, Sino Africa Group, Communication for Development and Advocacy Consult (CDA Consult), Lifeline Haven Company Limited, Tobinco Group of Companies, Fidelity Bank, Ghana Exim Bank, Petroleum Hub Development Corporation, Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited, Labadi Beach Hotel, Bayview Village and Zeex.
The summit, described as a major business and industrial think-tank platform, will offer the participants, which include state and non-state actors in the business field, the two countries opportunities to explore business opportunities.
It also creates an avenue for corporate Ghana to promote and sell Ghana not only to the Chinese business delegation but to the broader international community, as the global world system seems to be shifting with the emergence of new trade orders.
Meanwhile seasoned corporate leaders and industry experts from the banking, insurance, engineering, pharmaceutical and medical fields, and agriculture, as well as other key sectors of the economy, have been lined up to speak at the summit.
Most speakers are expected to highlight the strategic position of Ghana within the ECOWAS sub-region, potential opportunities, the conducive business environment, and the democratic architecture and link it to global development and the advantages of doing business in Ghana.
They will also use the platform to highlight startups and innovation, project the potential for Ghana-China business-to-business collaboration, and share success stories and exchange entrepreneurship ideas while cementing business relationships and strengthening partnerships.
In an interview, Mr Dennies Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of Perfect World Company Limited, explained that the summit ascribed as a premier event will be attended by over 70 top chief executive officers of prominent Chinese SOEs.
He said Ghanaian investors, entrepreneurs, business owners and corporate leaders from both the public and private sectors will also participate to explore strategic investment and business opportunities, foster partnerships, leverage Ghana’s strategic position to access the West African market and deepen collaboration between the two nations.
President John Dramani Mahama is expected to perform the official opening ceremony on Monday, June 23rd, while the Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman, is expected to perform the closing ceremony on Friday, June 27th. The Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah, is expected to chair both the opening and closing ceremonies.
Other high-profile dignitaries expected to grace the opening ceremony would be the Chinese Ambassador, H. E. Tong-Defa; Mr Chen Xiaowei, Group Chairman Sino-Africa Group; as well as government officials and technical experts from key sectors of the economy.
The Ghana Dance Company of the National Theatre is also expected to welcome and usher the dignitaries with Fontonfrom and perform the high classic Ghanaian adentum and the butcher’s dance.
The Ghana Dance Company, in addition to the expected opening day masterclass performance, will daily take the participants on a cultural tour of the country with classical traditional dance from all the 16 regions of Ghana.
