President Mahama appoints 15 new ambassadors and high commissioners

President John Dramani Mahama has named 15 individuals to head Ghana’s diplomatic missions abroad, following consultations with the Council of State.

In a letter signed by Dr Callistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to the President, and addressed to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the appointments include ambassadors, high commissioners, and a consul-general to represent Ghana in key international locations.

The newly appointed envoys include:

Mr Benjamin A. Quashie, High Commissioner-designate to South Africa

Mr Kojo Bonsu, Ambassador-designate to China

Madam Kulsoume Sinare Baffoe, Ambassador-designate to Spain

Mr Hammed Rashid Tunde Ali, Ambassador-designate to the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi)

Captain George Kofi Nfojoh, Ambassador-designate to Togo

Madam Grace El Mahmoud Marabe, Consul-General-designate to the United Arab Emirates (Dubai)

Professor Ohene Adjei, Ambassador-designate to Germany

Mr Abdul Nasiru-Deen, Ambassador-designate to Turkey

Madam Theresah Adjei-Mensah, Ambassador-designate to the Czech Republic

Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, Ambassador-designate to India

Dr Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, Ambassador-designate to Canada

Dr Margaret Miewien Chebere, Ambassador-designate to Denmark

Mr Labik Joseph Yaani, Ambassador-designate to Equatorial Guinea

Nii Amasah Namoale, Ambassador-designate to Brazil

Dr Felix Kumah Godwin Anebo, Ambassador-designate to Senegal

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been directed to take immediate steps to initiate the necessary procedures to formalise the appointments.

These nominations are part of President Mahama’s efforts to strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic engagement and promote the country’s interests abroad.
