Africa World Airlines to reduce air fares by end of June 2025

Africa World Airlines (AWA) has hinted of reducing air fares by the end of June 2025.

According to Godfred Essel, Brands and Communications Manager, the move is part of AWA’s efforts to make air travel more accessible and affordable for its customers.

The action is also in line with the cedi’s stability against major trading currencies especially the dollar.

“We are currently working on something,” Mr. Essel hinted, speaking at a soiree to announce it’s new route, Acrra – Ouagadougou.

“Hopefully, before the month ends, we’ll come up with new reduced fares. When it comes up, we invite yours truly,” he added.

The airline has consistently prioritised safety, which has earned it a reputation for being one of the most reliable airlines in the region.

“Safety is our utmost priority,” Mr. Essel emphasised.

“That’s why, at times, passengers think, oh, when there is a small weather change or issue, we don’t fly. We take the time to assess weather issues before flying, because we prefer that you get to your destination safely than you get there in turbulence.”

AWA’s commitment to safety has paid off, with an impressive 12-year track record of prioritising passenger safety above all else.

With the upcoming price reduction, passengers can expect to enjoy affordable travel without compromising on safety.

The Burkina Faso’s Ambassador to Ghana, David Kabre expressed excitement about AWA’s decision fly directly to Ouagadougou.

He noted that the decision will enhance trade and partnerships between the two countries.

Flights to Ouagadougou

Africa World Airlines also announced the commencement of scheduled flights to Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina Faso, from July 1, 2025.

Mr. Essel emphasised that choosing AWA for trips to Burkina Faso will be ideal since it saves time and it offers the cheapest rate.

“So first of all, you save six to eight hours. So instead of connecting to other airlines or other flights without direct route, you can choose AWA for a direct flight.”

“Also, about the price, starting at $290 is the cheapest, where would you have it? No other than Africa World Airline”, he added.
