Two people have been confirmed dead following a tragic accident involving a tipper truck and a Toyota Yaris on the Ntotroso-Kenyasi road in the Ahafo Region on Saturday.

The crash, which occurred earlier in the day, left three other passengers with various degrees of injuries.

They are currently receiving treatment at the Banhart and Kenyasi District Hospitals.

According to eyewitnesses, the Toyota Yaris with registration number BA-876-21 collided with a tipper truck registered GR-7768-25, resulting in the instant deaths of two of the five occupants in the taxi.

District Fire Officer for Asutifi North, DOIII Emmanuel Quansah, confirmed the incident to the media and admonished road users in the area to drive with caution.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
