The Ghana Police Service has debunked reports circulating on social media claiming the Service is currently undertaking a recruitment exercise.
In a press release dated June 23, and signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the Service urged the public to disregard such claims.
The law enforcement agency described such notices as false and misleading.
“The Service has not announced any new recruitment exercise. Any recruitment exercise will be duly advertised through the official communication channels of the Service, including the official website, verified social media platforms, and in the national dailies,” the statement read in part.
The Police Administration also cautioned the public to stay away from individuals or groups who demand money in exchange for recruitment opportunities because such acts are criminal.
“The public is hereby advised to disregard such fraudulent claims and desist from engaging with individuals or groups who promise recruitment opportunities in exchange for money,” it said.
The statement assured the public that investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest the perpetrators behind these fake recruitment schemes.
It also encouraged citizens to report anyone involved in such scams to the nearest police station.
