If Bawumia comes 1,000 times, NDC will beat him 1,000 times — Hamza Suhuyini

A member of the National Communications Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hamza Suhuyini, has said former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia lacks what it takes to become President of Ghana.

He argued that even if the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presents Dr. Bawumia a thousand times, the NDC will defeat him each time.

“If the NPP presents Dr. Bawumia 1,000 times, the NDC will beat him 1,000 times. But we will not be complacent,” Hamza said on Accra-based TV3’s New Day programme on Tuesday, June 24.

He added that the NDC is committed to working hard to convince Ghanaians to continue rejecting Dr. Bawumia.

“I always refer to how they said His Excellency John Mahama could never become President again after 2016. But today, he is President. So we will be guided by that history,” added Hamza.

Hamza maintained that while the NDC handed Bawumia a “crushing defeat,” the party would avoid making overconfident claims.

Rather, he said, they would keep proving through governance why Ghanaians should not elect Bawumia.

He further claimed that the NPP is facing serious leadership challenges, which Bawumia has failed to resolve due to a lack of leadership qualities.

“There is a huge vacuum from the National Chairman to the last man standing. Mostly when there is such a vocal in the politics of a political party, you rely on the former flagbearer to fill in that void. Unfortunately, Dr. Bawumia himself is not carved out as a leader,” he claimed.
