Suspended Gertrude Torkornoo Is Rather The Threat To Ghana’s Democracy

The suspended Chief Justice of Ghana, Gertrude Torkornoo, claims that “Ghana’s democracy is at risk” and cautions Ghanaians that “it will cost them if they ignore the bizarre procedures the government has taken to remove her from office.” It’s hardly an exaggeration to say that desperate people act in desperate ways. This article will expose the falsehoods and misleading statements made by the Supreme Court’s suspended top justice, who never considered Mahama reclaiming power.

I would like to ask the suspended and depressed woman when she became a mother to Ghanaians to provide them her hypocritical counsel when she disrespected and neglected the populace and only adored, worshipped, and endorsed Akufo-Addo and the criminal activities of the NPP. The woman has made it clear that she would not step down since her removal is unlawful, unconstitutional, and a threat to democracy. Another issue is, if she was a good chief justice, why only NPP members supported her instead of all Ghanaians?

It should be clear to Ghanaians that Torkornoo is desperate since she has received the largest money present from the NPP criminals to shield them from prosecution. This is especially true when someone who professes to be knowledgeable about the law and committed bigger crimes by breaking the Constitution comes out to say such things. Torkornoo has forgotten how she disrespected the speaker of parliament and rendered decisions in favor of the NPP because of NPP politician Afenyo-Markin.

The suspended chief justice misused government funds, exactly like most NPP politicians, including former president Akufo-Addo, former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta, and Kwabena Adu-Boahene. The woman engaged in financial malfeasance by using public funds. The financial offense involved alleged unlawful transfers of GH¢261,890.00 and US$30,000.00 to her family, specifically to her husband, Francis Kofi Torkornoo, and her daughter, Sarah Edem Amiga Torkornoo.

Gertrude Torkornoo’s actions both before and after the NPP’s loss are indicative of the rogues that former President Akufo-Addo appointed to serve in his administration. People in the Mafioso kingdom suffer as a result of repressive government or unwelcome taxation; this is exactly how the underworld government of the NPP, together with Gertrude Torkornoo and Jean Mensa, the head of the Electoral Commission, abused their offices and power to physically and psychologically torture Ghanaians.

I want to reassure Ghanaians who respect the rule of law and true democracy that Gertrude Torkornoo’s threat of not stepping down shouldn’t be an issue of concern. Ghanaians heard Akufo-Addo making similar claims that he would not hand over power to Mahama; however, he ended up exposing and disgracing himself. All the NPP political crooks, together with Gertrude Torkornoo and Jean Mensa, will suffer the same shame and be kicked out of office like how criminals are thrown into prison.

Without authority, the former chief justice would sit in limbo and watch guilty NPP criminals being imprisoned without taking any action. That woman will never be a hindrance to the advancement of the country or the work of the recently appointed Supreme Court justices. In a turn of events, more of Torkornoo’s committed financial crimes shall come to light, and the law will deal ruthlessly with her, and she will also retire in shame.
