Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Julius Debrah, has urged Ghanaian businesses to take full advantage of the trade and investment prospects emerging from the Ghana-China partnership.

He made the call during his closing remarks at the 2025 Ghana-China Business Summit held in Accra on Friday, June 27.

The five-day summit, which brought together Chinese investors and Ghanaian entrepreneurs, focused on trade facilitation, investment matchmaking, and cultural exchange to deepen economic ties between the two countries.

Mr Debrah commended the participation and commitment of the Ghanaian business community throughout the event and noted that their active engagement signalled a strong desire to grow and scale globally.

“For business executives to stop all you’re doing just to be part of this programme tells us that the Ghanaian business community is also poised to be successful,” he said.

He further encouraged participants not to treat the summit as a one-time event but to build on the momentum by nurturing the connections and leads made during the week.

“We shouldn’t make this a talk show. We should try and move and progress so that a year from now, we can have concrete things to show that this has been a successful story and worth visiting Ghana,” he stated.

According to him, the President of Ghana is fully committed to seeing businesses, particularly local enterprises, thrive under such partnerships.

He also revealed that preparations are already underway for a much bigger and more impactful edition of the summit next year, aimed at strengthening trade and investment between Ghana and China even further.

To Chinese investors, the politician and businessman assured them that President John Dramani Mahama has in place favourable policies to support the growth of their businesses.

The summit featured exhibitions, business-to-business sessions, product showcases, and cultural appreciation moments, all geared towards fostering long-term cooperation and mutual economic benefit between the two nations.
