The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has issued a strong warning to Supreme Court (SC) Judge, Justice Samuel Kwame Adibu-Asiedu, over what he describes as interference by the Mahama government in the case involving suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Torkornoo.

According to Abronye, Justice Adibu-Asiedu, who is serving on the five-member committee investigating the petitions seeking the removal of Chief Justice Torkornoo, has been influenced by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He added that the judge will one day face the consequences of his actions, emphasizing that the NPP will “punish him” even if it takes a hundred years.

Speaking on his Ohiani TV on June 28, 2025, Abronye DC accused the judge, who was appointed by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, of allowing himself to be manipulated by the current government.

“Because they were drunk, they made decisions that were unlawful. But for us, we won’t speak much now. Even if it takes 100 years, we know the judge who was on the committee. By the time NPP returns to power, he might still be in office, and we will sack him in disgrace,” Abronye fumed.

“He should know that no matter what, the NPP will remove him. He was pressured into making that decision, and when we come to power, no one will save him under an NPP government.”

He further alleged that Justice Adibu-Asiedu was intentionally added to the committee to give the impression of neutrality.

“The reason they brought Justice Adibu-Asiedu onto the committee was strategic. When the NDC sacks the Chief Justice, the government, through people like Felix Ofosu Kwakye, will hold a press conference and claim that the committee was not biased because Adibu-Asiedu, an appointee of Nana Addo, was part of it.

“They will say that even a judge appointed by Nana Addo supports the Chief Justice’s removal.”

Meanwhile, suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo has accused the government of denying her a fair hearing in the investigation process.

She has dismissed all the allegations levelled against her in the three petitions submitted to the president, calling the proceedings unjust.
