SIC Insurance gets new board of directors, charts path to market dominance

SIC Insurance PLC has inaugurated its new Board of Directors, led by Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Akatsi South constituency, as Chairman. The board consists of seasoned professionals with expertise in finance, insurance, and corporate governance.

The other members of the Board are Dr. Abena Nyarkoa Asomaning, Mr. Daniel Amasah Kotey, Major (rtd) Ben Donkor, Hon. David Theophilus Dominic Vondee, Member of Parliament for Twifo-Atii Morkwaa Constituency and Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Ntekuni, Member of Parliament for Pru West Constituency.

Sworn in by Justice Afi Agbanu Kudonor on Monday, June 30, at SIC Head Office, Nyemetei House, in Accra, the new board aims to drive SIC Insurance PLC towards market leadership and sustained growth.

The new Board Chair, Hon. Ahiafor, speaking on behalf of the board said he was humbled by their appointment and assured President John Dramani Mahama, shareholders and the people of Ghana of their highest commitment to ensuring that SIC Insurance PLC experiences growth in market share and profitability during the tenure of the new board.

The Acting Managing Director, Mr. James Agyenim-Boateng, was also formally appointed by the Board as the Managing Director.

Speaking during the ceremony, Mr Agyenim-Boateng said, “this transition marks an important step in SIC PLC’s journey to regain market leadership. The incoming Board brings renewed vision and strong governance that will further strengthen our performance and ensure that we continue to serve the needs of our clients, shareholders, stakeholders and the nation at large.”
