Tema West Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Citizen Nana Obrempong, has thrown his weight behind Hon. Kennedy Agyapong as the party’s best bet for the 2028 presidential election, calling on delegates to remain focused and reject what he describes as misleading internal polls.
Speaking on NET 2 TV’s political program “The Seat,” Nana Obrempong emphasized that being a delegate is a privilege that requires representing the true voice of the grassroots.
“Being a delegate is a privileged position. Please find out from your community people the NPP presidential candidate that they desire for the 2028 general elections,” he stated.
He further urged delegates and party supporters to “disregard the fake polls” making the rounds on social media in favor of other aspirants, stressing that such polls do not reflect the realities on the ground.
“These so-called polls are engineered to serve certain interests. But the truth is, the people are calling for Ken. He is the candidate with the grassroots appeal, discipline, and courage to lead the NPP to victory in 2028,” Obrempong declared.
He praised Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s leadership style, commitment to national development, and strong connection with ordinary citizens, which he believes positions him as the ideal candidate to continue the NPP’s legacy and secure an electoral win.
The call comes as internal discussions intensify within the party regarding the future leadership of the NPP. While the official race is yet to begin, endorsements like Nana Obrempong’s signal a strong undercurrent of support for the former Assin Central MP.
