An Urgent Call to Single Drivers

Safety on Ghanas Roads: An Urgent Call to Single Drivers

As the number of vehicles on Ghana’s roads continues to grow, ensuring safety for all road users has become increasingly important. One concerning practice that has been observed is single drivers collecting lorry fares from passengers while navigating busy roads. This habit not only endangers the lives of passengers but also poses a significant risk to other road users.

The Dangers of Collecting Fares While Driving

When drivers take their attention off the road to collect fares, they increase the likelihood of accidents. With the complexity of modern traffic, staying focused on driving is crucial to avoid potential hazards. For the safety of everyone on the road, it’s essential that drivers adopt practices that minimize distractions.

A Simple yet Effective Solution

To address this issue, we kindly advise all single drivers to consider the following:

Collect fares before reaching the destination: Drivers can ask passengers to pay their fares before the vehicle reaches its final stop. This way, drivers can focus on driving without interruptions.

Collect fares after reaching the destination: Alternatively, drivers can wait until passengers have reached their destination before collecting the fare. This ensures that the driver’s attention remains on the road during the journey.

Let’s Drive Safe in Ghana

Road safety is a shared responsibility, and every driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of their passengers and other road users. By adopting these simple practices, single drivers can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and contribute to a safer driving environment in Ghana.

An Appeal to All Single Drivers

We urge all single drivers to prioritize safety and take proactive steps to minimize distractions while driving. By doing so, you not only protect your passengers but also contribute to the overall safety of our roads. Let’s work together to make Ghana’s roads safer for everyone.

Drive Safe, Arrive Safe
