As part of President John Dramani Mahama’s national call to foster spiritual unity and gratitude, the Tano South Municipal Assembly joined the rest of the country in marking the maiden National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving under the theme: “Reflect, Reset and Renewal for National Prosperity.”

The event, held in a spirit of solemnity and national purpose, brought together a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including traditional authorities, Assembly Members, departmental heads, religious leaders, and members of the community. The occasion was aimed at invoking divine guidance and blessings for the nation through collective prayer and reflection.

Addressing the gathering, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kwame Frimpong, delivered special greetings from President Mahama and lauded his vision in establishing the initiative as a means to strengthen peace, unity, and moral renewal across Ghana.

He encouraged Christians and all Ghanaians to uphold virtuous living and shun practices that threaten the country’s development. Specifically, he warned against social vices such as illegal mining, deforestation, and environmental degradation, which he said were harmful to both the land and the people.

“We must choose actions that uplift the image of Tano South and support the broader progress of our country,” Hon. Frimpong stated.

He urged that prayer for the nation and its leadership should not be a one-day ritual, but rather a daily commitment that would promote spiritual growth, peace, and prosperity.

Concluding his address, Hon. Frimpong thanked all participants for their presence and support, offering a heartfelt prayer for their health, longevity, and divine protection.

In a stirring contribution, the Queen Mother of the Bechem Traditional Area, Nana Adwoa Po Dwamena Serwaa II, commended the event and encouraged the people of Bechem and surrounding communities to support the President’s resetting agenda.

She emphasized the importance of unity and teamwork in achieving transformational goals for Tano South and the nation at large.

“I firmly believe the collective prayers we have offered today have ascended to the Almighty, and we shall surely reap the blessings in due time,” she said.

The National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving in Tano South marked a significant moment for both reflection and renewed commitment to Ghana’s spiritual and developmental journey.
