Equipping youngsters with the knowledge of a sustainable world is crucial as it seeks to repair any harm already made to our environment.

As part of the campaign to raise awareness and provide education on ways to support ourselves and our earth, the United People Global (UPG) through their Sustainability Leaders like Augusta Asiedu-Lartey provides insight into Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to protect our environment and enhance it.

On two occasions she delivered training to young people who had not heard about the SDGs to learn and educate their peers on the way we should go to preserve our environment with a culture that protects our water bodies, promotes good health and well-being, sustain our cities and communities and supports everything that strengthens our lives.

“Are we enhancing the world to live life to the fullest, or are we destroying it with our actions?” is a question Augusta seeks answers to. To create awareness and solicit support for a future where sustainability is a household name, she taught children, including the children diagnosed with cancer at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, how to maintain good health and well-being.

This is a way of curbing malnutrition among them during their treatment to support continuous treatment and recovery.

“I was not aware of the Sustainable Development Goals; it is a very important issue to address,” said a learner. It comes to support the importance of hosting mini-training, as it is crucial for supporting our community. This is what UPG stands for, considering the four pillars namely: awareness, belief, collaboration and community.

United People Global is an important part of making the ambitious goal of the Sustainable Development Goals a reality by focusing on getting people involved and taking action. This shows that working together, even on a small scale, can make a big difference.
