Parliament has rolled out a new access directive requiring all visitors and stakeholders to enter the Parliament House exclusively through the Ceremonial Gate, situated directly opposite the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

The move, sanctioned by Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, takes immediate effect and is aimed at tightening security, streamlining visitor protocols, and ensuring order within the legislative enclave.

In a statement signed by David Sebastian Damoah, Director of the Media Relations Department, Parliament clarified that all visitors will now be processed through the Visitor’s Centre upon arrival. Individuals will be subject to verification and confirmation of the purpose of their visit before being granted access to the main premises.

The new directive forms part of a broader initiative to modernise security and operational systems within the parliamentary precincts. It is also designed to minimise disruptions and reinforce the safety of lawmakers, staff, and guests.

Parliament is calling on the general public, stakeholders, and institutional visitors to cooperate fully with the new access arrangements. Authorities have stressed the need for everyone to treat the measure with “the urgency and importance it deserves.”

This latest security protocol underscores Parliament’s commitment to safeguarding the integrity of its operations while maintaining a structured, secure environment for public engagement.
