The Suntreso District Police Command has picked up two suspected armed robbers in connection with a robbery incident that occurred at Alignment, a suburb of Kwadaso Estate in the Ashanti Region.

The suspects—22-year-old Issah Abdul and 20-year-old Abdul Rahman—allegedly attacked their victim and made away with a handbag containing a Samsung smartphone valued at GH¢2,000 and other personal belongings.

According to the police, the suspects were armed with a machete and were riding an unregistered blue motorbike during the incident.

In a twist of events, one of them inadvertently dropped his Samsung mobile phone at the crime scene.

The victim later retrieved the phone and submitted it to the police as evidence. This clue led investigators to arrest the two suspects at Sofoline.

During a search, police retrieved five mobile phones and GH¢1,690 from them.

In a press statement, the police confirmed that the suspects admitted to the crime and led officers to where they had hidden the machete used in the attack.

The two are currently in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.
