Deputy Education Minister Applauds TEIN-UCC for NDC’s Electoral Success

Deputy Education Minister, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has commended the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) student wing at the University of Cape Coast, Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN-UCC), over the efforts in helping the party win the 2024 polls.

Speaking at the TEIN-UCC conference in Cape Coast on Saturday, the deputy minister said the party’s student wing had been at the forefront of the campaign to get the NDC elected.

He indicated that the group had “proven itself as a beacon of hope, courage and determination”.

“Let me begin by saluting every member of TEIN, especially here at UCC, for the passion, resilience, and unwavering dedication shown during the just-ended national elections. You were not just observers but, you were key actors on the frontlines mobilizing, campaigning, educating, and defending our ideals. This victory is as much yours as it is for the entire NDC fraternity,” he averred.

Offering thoughts on the future role of the ruling party’s student wing, Dr. Apaak encouraged the gathering to regard TEIN as a key player on the national stage, influencing policies and shaping public discourse.

“As we look to the future, we recognize that TEIN’s role extends beyond triumph. It’s about reclaiming our voice in national strategy, shaping policies that reflect our values, and ensuring our collective aspirations are met,” he noted.

He urged the students to challenge the status quo and push for a brighter future where “every voice is heard and every citizen thrives”.

Dr. Apaak, who doubles as the Member of Parliament of Builsa South, assured the students that the party did not intend to appreciate them with merely showers of praise but work to provide opportunities for them after school.

To this end, he noted several key government policies in various stages of implementation that sought to economically empower the youth. Some of them include the 24-hour Economy policy, Women’s Development Bank, National Apprenticeship Programme, and ‘Adwumawura’ Programme.

The deputy minister urged his youthful audience to help the ruling NDC fulfill its reset agenda.

He advocated for an active and engaged student group that would ignite the party’s fortunes in the future.

“TEIN is not only a student wing,” he said, “but it is the living heartbeat of our political future”.
