Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a close aide to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reaffirmed his unshakable loyalty to the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, declaring that his admiration for Bawumia transcends even this lifetime.
In a deeply personal tribute during an appearance on Channel One TV’s Upside Down show on Sunday, July 13, Aboagye made it clear that if given the chance to choose a leader to serve under again—even after death—he would choose Bawumia without hesitation.
“If I die and go and come back and have to choose who, from a million people, one person to work with, I will choose Dr. Bawumia,” Aboagye stated passionately.
Describing Bawumia in glowing terms, he continued, “He is intelligent, he is a doer, he is honest and sincere, and he is visionary.”
Miracles Aboagye served as a key strategist in Dr. Bawumia’s 2024 presidential campaign and has been one of the former vice president’s most visible and vocal supporters. His latest remarks reflect a profound sense of respect and commitment to Bawumia’s leadership ideals and character.
In addition to his tribute, Aboagye offered a candid glimpse into his own political aspirations. Despite his rising profile, he revealed that the presidency is not in his sights. Instead, he dreams of wielding influence behind the scenes, in a role he believes is better suited to his personality and strengths.
“I don’t want to be President. I would love to be a Chief of Staff but not a president. I think Chief of Staff is powerful. I think I would be a better Chief of Staff than president,” he explained.
For Aboagye, the Chief of Staff role offers the opportunity to drive transformation without the political glare of the top job—focusing instead on coordination, problem-solving, and strategy.
His revelations come at a time when the NPP is reflecting on its electoral future after a tough 2024 campaign. But for Aboagye, one thing remains non-negotiable—his allegiance to Bawumia, a man he says embodies all the qualities of a transformational leader.
