The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced the successful completion of a key upgrade by ENI to Ghana’s gas infrastructure, resulting in a significant increase in daily gas supply.

The enhancement raises output from 245 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 270 MMscfd, marking a crucial milestone in Ghana’s drive towards a reliable and sustainable energy future.

“This enhancement in gas supply is a significant step towards ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the nation,” the Ministry stated in an official release issued on Monday, July 14.

The increased capacity is expected to provide vital support to Ghana’s power generation efforts, contributing to the overall economic growth and industrial development of the country.

The Ministry extended its appreciation to ENI and all stakeholders within the power sector for their “dedicated efforts” in executing the project.

It also thanked the citizens of Ghana for their patience and cooperation during the upgrade process. “Your support is invaluable as we work together to build a brighter energy future,” the statement added.

Signed by Richmond Rockson, Esq., Spokesperson and Head of Communication at the Ministry, the statement reiterated the government’s commitment to delivering consistent and dependable power supply to all Ghanaians.

It underscored the importance of such strategic partnerships in achieving energy security and national development.
