Presidency rolls out ‘Government Accountability Series’ to deepen transparency

The Office of Communications at the Presidency has unveiled a bold new platform aimed at fostering transparency and enhancing public trust in government: the Government Accountability Series.

Set to launch on Monday, July 14, 2025, the initiative is designed to give Ghanaians direct insights into the government’s performance, offering regular briefings from key ministers on their sector-specific achievements and challenges.

“The Government Accountability Series” will serve as a structured forum for Cabinet ministers to deliver mid-year updates on their respective mandates. The Presidency has confirmed that these briefings will be held three times each week—Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—at 11:00 a.m., offering a consistent schedule for public engagement.

The series will open with the Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, who is expected to address major developments in internal security, immigration management, and public safety initiatives.

According to the Communications Office, the programme is not just an opportunity for government officials to report progress—it is a call for accountability, transparency, and open dialogue with the citizenry.

The sessions will also allow Ghanaians to better understand the complexities of national governance while assessing how the administration is addressing ongoing challenges.

“The Government Accountability Series” will continue in the weeks ahead with appearances from other ministers, each expected to deliver comprehensive sectoral briefings in line with the government’s commitment to democratic openness and responsible leadership.
