The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has reiterated his dedication to grassroots development through a hands-on inspection of ongoing inner-road construction projects across the constituency.

The tour, which drew participation from local leaders, youth groups, and traders, formed part of the MP’s broader oversight mission to ensure that critical infrastructure projects are executed to standard and completed on schedule.

His presence on-site underscored more than just political interest—it was a deliberate effort to engage with contractors, solicit community feedback, and hold project implementers accountable.

Shaib visited key communities, including Tetegu, Mallam, and SCC, where residents have long endured deteriorating roads plagued by potholes, poor drainage, and uneven surfaces.

The sight of heavy construction equipment sparked cautious optimism among locals, who have waited years for meaningful improvements.

In his interactions with residents and contractors, the MP stressed that the roadworks were not political gimmicks but a concrete response to persistent calls for better infrastructure.

He emphasised the far-reaching benefits of quality roads—improved vehicular movement, better access to schools, healthcare, markets, and enhanced emergency response.

Shaib issued a stern warning to contractors, urging them to adhere to quality specifications and timelines strictly.

He made it clear that substandard work would not be tolerated under his leadership.

Many residents commended the MP for his visibility and practical approach, describing his inspection as a refreshing example of “leadership by presence.”

Nonetheless, some community members raised concerns over past road projects that were either delayed or abruptly halted due to funding constraints or lapses in coordination between municipal and central government agencies.

In response, the MP assured constituents of continuous follow-up with the Ministry of Roads and Highways to prevent similar setbacks.
