Kennedy Kankam slams Mahamas govt, says they have nothing tangible to show after six months

Former Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Kennedy Kankam, has launched a scathing critique of President John Dramani Mahama’s administration, accusing it of failing to deliver any meaningful results in its first six months in office.

Speaking on the “Dwabrem” show on OTEC 102.9 FM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Mr. Kankam described the government’s performance so far as a “trial and error” exercise aimed more at winning public sympathy than delivering real development.

“The first six months of this administration have been more about testing the waters than rolling out any bold policy direction,” he said during the interview hosted by Prince Nii Ardey, popularly known as Dr. Cash.

The former MP criticised the government’s failure to initiate any major infrastructure projects, arguing that such undertakings are essential for driving national growth and development.

According to Mr. Kankam, the administration’s attempts to tout economic recovery are baseless and contradictory. He questioned how the same officials who claim it is too early to be judged on performance are already praising themselves for economic gains.

“You can’t say six months is too short for us to judge your performance and, at the same time, claim you’ve made progress. If nothing has been done, there’s no basis to celebrate,” he argued.

He urged the Mahama-led government to stop what he called empty rhetoric and focus instead on implementing concrete, people-centered policies that will uplift the living conditions of Ghanaians.
