The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has made it clear that the party’s upcoming National Delegates Conference, scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2025, is strictly reserved for accredited delegates.

In an interview with Moro Awudu on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Ahiagbah emphasized that the event is a formal working session and not an open forum for supporters or the general public.

“If you are not a delegate, there is no need to come to the NPP National Delegates Conference,” he stated.

The 2025 conference is poised to be a pivotal gathering for the party, with major constitutional amendments set to dominate the agenda. Delegates will discuss reforms proposed by the Prof. Mike Oquaye Committee as well as unresolved matters from the 2019 Delegates Conference in Kumasi.

“These reforms are not cosmetic,” Ahiagbah stressed. “They’re designed to strengthen the party’s internal structures and strategically position the NPP for future electoral success, particularly in the 2028 general elections.”

He noted that the reform proposals are the result of broad internal consultations and reflect a unified effort to modernize the party’s operations, enhance transparency, and uphold the core values upon which the NPP was founded.

The event will be held under the theme: “Rebuilding Together With Our Values,” underscoring the party’s commitment to unity, accountability, and long-term planning.

As political activity intensifies in the lead-up to the 2028 elections, this year’s conference is expected to shape the NPP’s strategic direction and messaging both within the party and to the wider Ghanaian public.
