Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has urged the largest opposition party to make decisions at its upcoming delegates’ conference that will help restore unity and return the party to power.

The Extraordinary Delegates Conference is a key event on the NPP’s political calendar, often used to deliberate on major party matters and take high-level decisions.

Over 4,000 NPP delegates will converge at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday, July 19, to vote on pressing issues, including proposed constitutional amendments.

In a social media post on Friday, July 18, the former Assin Central MP encouraged delegates to make choices that will heal divisions and strengthen the party’s chances of winning the 2028 general elections.

“Welcome to Accra, my brothers and sisters of the NPP. At this critical moment in our party’s journey, your decision matters more than ever. Let’s make choices that restore trust, reconnect with the grassroots and bring the NPP back to power in 2028,” he wrote.

He added, “May this delegates’ conference be peaceful, purposeful, and a turning point for our great party.”

Meanwhile, two party members have filed a motion for an interlocutory injunction at the High Court in Accra seeking to stop the extraordinary national delegates conference.

The motion, filed on July 14 by Shamsudeen Iddrisu and Boateng Kwadwo through their legal counsel, Agyemang Duah of CharisBrit Legal Consult, is asking the court to restrain the NPP from holding the event at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium from July 18 to 20, 2025.
