The chiefs of the four traditional areas within the South Dayi District have paid a courtesy call on the Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Johnson Asiama, to congratulate him on his appointment and pledge their support for his tenure.

During the meeting, the chiefs offered prayers for God’s protection and guidance for the Governor as he takes on his national responsibilities. They also used the occasion to discuss key development needs in the South Dayi District.

Dr Asiama expressed deep appreciation for the visit and the support shown by the chiefs and people of South Dayi.

He called for unity among the traditional authorities and the general population, emphasizing that collaboration is vital for development.

Touching on pressing issues, the Governor revealed that he is in close contact with the Deputy Minister of Finance to find a lasting solution to the water crisis in the Kpali and Tongor areas.

He assured the delegation that the issue would be resolved before the onset of the next dry season.

In the area of education, Dr. Asiama disclosed that plans are underway to construct dormitory facilities for all Senior High Schools in the district.

He also announced that a new Senior High School will be established in the Kpali area—currently the only traditional area in the district without one.

He further indicated that he is engaging the Deputy Finance Minister to expedite the completion of the Asikuma-Dzemeni road, a vital route linking several communities in the district.

The Governor extended special appreciation to Deiga, one of the traditional leaders, for his instrumental role in his appointment.

He also pledged to collaborate with the Member of Parliament for South Dayi to advance development in the district.

As part of broader cultural engagement, Dr. Asiama proposed the establishment of a common festival to unite the people of South Dayi and celebrate their shared identity.

He concluded by affirming his commitment to support any developmental initiative within the district, pledging to make himself available for such causes.

Also present at the meeting were Mr. Prince Alex Adoboe, South Dayi Constituency Chairman; Mr. Prosper Kwame Ofosu; and legal practitioner Emmanuel Kpekata Esq., who facilitated the visit.
