The city of Ho played host to a vibrant celebration of flavour and innovation as the Passion to Pouring cocktail tasting event brought together guests for an evening of unique tastes, culture, and networking.

The event, held under the theme “Mood, Music, Mixology,” attracted a select group of 46 cocktail lovers for an exclusive tasting, followed by an after-party attended by more than 300 people.

Mr. Governor Tetteh, the brain behind the initiative, said the event was inspired by his vision to spotlight African ingredients and redefine cocktail culture in Ghana.

“Passion to Pouring started as a simple idea—to use African flavours and ingredients in ways that inspire creativity and empower the next generation,” he noted.

The highlight of the evening was the introduction of five original cocktails: Broken Pie of Ginger, Matsewem, Lebuny, Ruth’s Embrace, and Chairman. Each cocktail was carefully crafted to deliver a distinct story, taste, and sensory experience, showcasing a fusion of local ingredients and professional mixology techniques.

Guests not only tasted the unique drinks but were also taken through the inspiration and process behind each creation. The event provided a platform to appreciate mixology as both a craft and an emerging art form within Ghana’s hospitality industry.

Beyond the tasting, the event transitioned into a lively after-party, where music, conversation, and cocktails flowed freely. The mood remained upbeat as guests mingled and networked, with many describing the atmosphere as refreshing and long overdue for Ho’s growing entertainment scene.

The event drew support from prominent local figures. Togbe Kludzehe IV, Afetorfia of Ho Bankoe, was present and commended the organisers for promoting innovation in the hospitality sector.

“Events like this must be encouraged. They highlight our local talent and help project Ho in a positive light both culturally and economically,” he said.

Also present was Mr. Dela Gadzanku, Chairman of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) for the Volta and Oti Regions, whose presence underscored the growing connection between creative industries and local business development.

Mr. Tetteh expressed appreciation to all attendees and hinted at more editions in the near future.

“This is just the beginning. We want to keep growing this idea, create job opportunities, and make Ho a destination for high-quality hospitality experiences,” he said.

The Passion to Pouring event has set a high bar for creative, locally inspired experiences in the region. It marked not only a celebration of cocktails but also a forward-looking moment for Ho’s cultural and hospitality development.
