Eugene Boakye Antwi rallies NPP for unity ahead of 2028

At the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Delegates Conference, held at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra, Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi, former Member of Parliament for Subin and a former Deputy Minister, delivered a bold call for unity, discipline, and forward-thinking leadership within the party.

Addressing the media on the sidelines of the event, Mr Boakye Antwi stressed that the NPP’s main political adversary remains the National Democratic Congress (NDC)—not fellow party members.
His message was clear: internal divisions must be set aside if the NPP is to maintain its relevance and electoral strength.

“We have one common enemy and it’s not each other,” he said. “Victory 2028 begins with a united NPP today.”

A Call for Discipline and Modernisation

The former Deputy Minister underscored the need for a new era of discipline, loyalty, and collective responsibility within the party. He warned that no amount of political manoeuvring or policy crafting would secure electoral victory unless the party is united at all levels.

Responding to questions about his political future, particularly whether he intends to contest for the position of General Secretary, Mr Boakye Antwi responded with cautious assurance:

“When the time is up, I will surely contest.”

He outlined a vision for the NPP’s administrative future centred on technology, transparency, and organisational efficiency, stating that the party must modernise its operations and communications to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving political landscape.

“The NPP must not only be a ruling party but a governing institution, equipped for the future,” he added.

A Steady Hand for the Party’s Next Chapter

Mr Boakye Antwi’s remarks have since sparked conversations among party members, delegates, and grassroots organisers. Many view him as a steady and experienced hand, with deep institutional knowledge and a track record of navigating both party structures and national governance.

His potential bid for General Secretary is seen by many within the NPP as a leadership comeback that could bring cohesion and strategic direction to the party, particularly as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.

As the party gears up for its next internal elections, Mr Boakye Antwi’s message resonates: the path to victory lies in unity, modernisation, and discipline.
