Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has expressed his disapproval of Kennedy Agyapong’s recent gestures at the NPP’s National Delegates Conference, particularly his call for “change.”

“I was so disappointed when I saw Kennedy Agyapong giving a signal with both hands for ‘change.’ Change for what?” Ampaw questioned.

He added, “Kennedy, you know I’m not against you, but that sign for ‘change’ you made, what does it imply? Are you calling for a change in the NDC or the NPP? For what reason? You’re in opposition; it was inappropriate to signal for ‘change’ at that rally. It was wrong.”

Ampaw criticised the “change” gestures, arguing they were unnecessary.

He further stated, “What are you changing? It isn’t campaign time. You need to be consistent and support Bawumia. Anyone who intends to contest for the presidency deserves recognition; we appreciate all of you. However, Bawumia is our best choice.”

Ampaw believes Dr Bawumia is in a strong position, as noted in a post on X by Sikaofficial dated July 21, 2025.

The accompanying caption read, “Lawyer Maurice Ampaw voiced his disappointment over the ‘change’ sign gestures made by Kennedy Agyapong during the NPP’s National Delegates Conference. He argued that there was no need to call for change, as Dr Bawumia requires just 9% more votes to secure victory in the 2028 elections.”

The post elaborated, “According to Ampaw, the NDC has already exhausted its propaganda against Dr Bawumia, which in his view, makes the former Vice President the strongest candidate for the party going into the next election.”

Ampaw emphasised that Dr Bawumia needs only 9% more votes to surpass the 50% threshold necessary for victory in 2028.

He remarked, “Wherever your brother has climbed, support him further, and you’ll also rise. Bawumia has reached a stage where he needs just 9% of the votes to win. It’s not the time to start over. Whatever needed to be said about Bawumia was already said in 2024. The insults and propaganda have been exhausted.”

According to Ampaw, any attempts by the NDC to undermine Dr Bawumia have already failed, stating, “There’s nothing that the NDC or anyone else can use against Bawumia in 2028.”
