Rabito Clinic holds free health screening for Ashongman Estate residents

Scores of residents of Ashongman Estate have received free health screening, courtesy of Rabito Clinic, a renowned skin specialist hospital, as part of activities marking the opening of its 19th branch in the area on Friday, July 18.

The event formed part of the clinic’s ongoing mission to deliver accessible skin and general healthcare to communities across the country.

Speaking at the inauguration, Naa Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII, Founder and President of Rabito Clinics, stated, “The purpose was to bring skin and general health care to the doorsteps of people in the area.”

Naa Prof. Delle Chiir VIII, who is also the Paramount Chief of the Nandom Traditional Area, told Modern Ghana News that the free screening exercise aimed to provide essential dermatological and general medical care, particularly to residents who may not otherwise afford it.

He stressed that quality healthcare should not be a privilege based on wealth. “At Rabito Clinics nationwide, health care is not based on affordability but on meeting the needs of the people we serve based on our general understanding that as a health facility and medical professionals, we only medicate and God heals.”

A respected statesman and veteran dermatologist, Naa Prof. Delle Chiir VIII highlighted Rabito Clinics’ expansion into other areas of care, including nutrition, clinical psychology, gynaecology, occupational health and wellness, and telemedicine—allowing patients to consult doctors remotely.

He described the launch of the Ashongman branch as part of Rabito’s broader vision to deliver healthcare to every corner of Ghana, regardless of location, economic status, or background. “Health care should be provided to all,” he emphasised.

Naa Prof. Delle Chiir VIII, a devoted Catholic and seasoned public servant, reaffirmed that Rabito Clinics stands as a beacon not just for Ghanaian healthcare, but for Africa and the wider global community.

In his remarks, Dr. Banguu Delle, Chief Executive Officer of Rabito Clinics, said the new Ashongman branch represents more than a medical facility—it represents a deep commitment to healing and equity.

“To the people of Ashongman: this clinic belongs to you, and we are here to serve you,” he said.

Dr. Delle added that beyond delivering care, the clinic is proud to be creating employment opportunities for local professionals and working hand in hand with the community to promote preventive healthcare and wellness.

Rabito Clinics currently operates in several regions across Ghana, including Greater Accra, Ashanti, Volta, Eastern, Ahafo, Upper East, Upper West, Northern, Central, and Western. The network offers a wide range of services including dermatology, general medicine, pharmacy, telemedicine, gynaecology and obstetrics, cosmetic dermatology, dentistry, and ophthalmology.

Some residents who benefitted from the screening expressed gratitude to Rabito Clinic, praising the gesture and welcoming the facility as a timely intervention for the community.
