The Kaneshie District Court has postponed proceedings in the case involving the killing of Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah to August 8.

The adjournment was confirmed during a court session held on Thursday, July 28.

The main suspect, Bright Aweh, remains in police custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the officer’s tragic death.

Originally treated as a case of kidnapping, the matter has since been reclassified as a homicide and transferred from the Kwabenya Circuit Court to the Kaneshie District Court, which has broader jurisdiction over such offences.

Stephen Amoah, aged 38, was reported missing on July 3 after leaving home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate.

His charred remains were found five days later at Abuom Junction, near Kwabenya.

The suspect, Aweh, is believed to have been the last person in contact with the deceased before his disappearance.
