The Private Universities Students’ Association of Ghana (PUSAG) has expressed gratitude to the government of Ghana and the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) for what it describes as a “historic milestone” in student financing.
For the first time in the history of the SLTF, all students in accredited private universities who applied for loans have successfully received their disbursements.
PUSAG extended special appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer of the SLTF, Hajia Dr Saajida Hiraz, for her exceptional leadership and dedication in ensuring that private university students were not left behind in this year’s disbursement process.
“This is a landmark moment for students in private tertiary institutions,” PUSAG National President Ibrahim Issah noted. “We commend the Government of Ghana, particularly the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, for his unwavering support and vision for a holistic educational system that includes all students in private universities nationwide.”
“This unprecedented achievement is a testament to the government’s commitment to inclusive education and equitable access to higher education financing”.
PUSAG reiterated its readiness to continue partnering with the SLTF and the Ministry of Education to advance policies and initiatives that promote educational access, equity, and national development.
As the association champions the welfare of private university students across the country, it calls on beneficiaries to use this support responsibly and to uphold academic excellence.
