The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), Ms. Margaret Ansei Magoo, led a high-level delegation from the Mastercard Foundation Ghana team on a courtesy visit to the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, in Koforidua.
The visit, which took place earlier this week, marked the beginning of the team’s official engagement in the region, including a tour of the iconic Koforidua Bead Market. The Regional Minister joined the delegation for the tour, highlighting the importance of supporting local artisans and promoting indigenous crafts as a means of empowering entrepreneurs and driving regional economic development.
During the engagement, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey commended the Ghana Enterprises Agency and the Mastercard Foundation for their impactful work in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises across the country. She also expressed her commitment to fostering strong collaborations with GEA to roll out initiatives that will directly benefit the people of the Eastern Region.
“I am ready to work hand in hand with GEA to ensure that entrepreneurs and small business owners in the region receive the support they need to thrive,” the Minister stated.
The visit forms part of GEA’s broader strategy to strengthen regional partnerships, promote entrepreneurship, and support local industries under its mandate of job creation and economic empowerment.
