Two individuals have lost their lives in a fatal accident involving an articulator truck loaded with cement pipes along the Fomena–Adansi Asokwa stretch in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region.

The crash occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

The truck, with registration number GT 5501-23, was en route from Takoradi to Kumasi when it veered off the road and plunged into a ditch.

According to a report by adomonline.com on July 29, 2025, the driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the deadly crash that claimed the lives of both occupants.

Residents, disturbed by the frequency of accidents on the road, have renewed calls for improved safety interventions.

“This road has become a death trap. There are no speed ramps or proper road signs, and visibility is very poor, especially at night. We are tired of burying our people. Authorities must act before more lives are lost”, the report said.

The Fomena District Police, led by DSP Samson Wunyi Mumuni, responded promptly to the scene.

The bodies of the deceased were conveyed to the Adansi Fomena District Hospital mortuary as investigations continue.

The Fomena–Adansi Asokwa stretch is increasingly being described as accident-prone, with residents urging authorities to implement speed control measures and enhance visibility along the route.
