‘Beat any NDC member fighting a fellow party member’ – Annoh-Dompreh tells NPP members

The Member of Parliament of Nsawam/Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has warned that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will face unrest in Parliament if they prevent the Electoral Commission (EC) from re-collating the results of the December 2024 Ablekuma North parliamentary election.

He issued a one-week ultimatum for the EC to declare the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Akua Afriyieh, as the winner of the December 7 election.

In a video shared by GHOne TV on Facebook on Thursday, February 6, 2025, the Minority Chief Whip emphasised that failure to allow the re-collation process to proceed would result in continued demonstrations.

He also urged NPP supporters to defend their fellow party members in any confrontation with NDC members.

“If you are a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and you come across a fellow party member fighting with a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), step in and help your fellow party member,” he stated.

Annoh-Dompreh insisted that the EC must declare Akua Afriyieh the winner, while dismissing calls for a re-run, alleging that the NDC had destroyed crucial electoral documents.

“If they (NDC) are not reasonable enough to know that, based on the collated results, we have won the Ablekuma North parliamentary election, the NDC MPs will not know peace in Parliament. We will continue to demonstrate. So, if they do not allow the EC to re-collate, they will not know peace. We are giving the EC one week to declare the results. Why did the NDC burn the pink sheets? Ablekuma North is for the NPP. We are winning,” he noted.

Meanwhile, tensions remain high in the constituency as both NPP’s Akua Afriyieh and NDC’s Ewurabena Aubyn have erected billboards declaring victory, despite the EC not yet announcing the final results.

The re-collation process has been delayed due to frequent disputes and chaos, leading to rising tensions and uncertainty.

Ablekuma North remains the only constituency from the December 7 election without a declared winner.

The EC is yet to announce new dates for the re-collation of results in the constituency.
