It’s interesting that Zanetor, Atta Mills haven’t been appointed yet — Rev Ntim Fordjour

Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, Member of Parliament for Assin South, has raised concerns over the absence of Dr. Zanetor Agyemang Rawlings and Samuel Atta Mills from President John Dramani Mahama’s ministerial appointments.

Samuel Atta Mills, brother of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, is the MP for Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem, while Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, daughter of former President Jerry John Rawlings, represents Klottey Korle.

President Mahama, who promised a lean government with 60 ministers, has so far appointed 56 but is yet to name the two MPs.

Speaking on Metro TV on Thursday, February 6, Rev Ntim Fordjour described their exclusion as “interesting,” especially considering their political experience and contributions.

“Zanetor is a respected third-term MP who has distinguished herself. Samuel Atta Mills is also a third-term MP and a fantastic gentleman. It’s curious that they haven’t been named yet,” he said.

He acknowledged that appointments are not based solely on family ties but on competence and availability of slots. He urged the appointed ministers to deliver on their mandates, recognizing the trust reposed in them.

“There are many competent individuals who haven’t been named yet, such as Hon. James Agalga and Hon. Emmanuel Bedzrah. The ministers appointed must serve diligently, knowing they were chosen out of many qualified persons,” he added.
