Ablakwa carries bags of documents about others but couldn’t provide just nine about himself — Ntim Fordjour

Member of Parliament for Assin South, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, has slammed North Tongu MP and Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, over what he described as double standards.

The former Deputy Education Minister noted that the Chairman of the ORAL Committee failed to provide just nine documents regarding his business, rent, and properties to the Appointments Committee.

Speaking on Accra-based Metro TV on Thursday, February 6, Rev. Ntim Fordjour said Ablakwa appears to care about his own reputation but remains insensitive to that of others.

“He went there with three or four bags full of documents about other people’s properties, lands, and dealings. But when he was requested to submit just nine documents related to his own business and property, he couldn’t,” he said.

Ntim Fordjour also referenced the moment Okudzeto Ablakwa during his appearance before the Appointments Committee, demanded an apology from Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader, for comments made against him.

According to him, the Foreign Affairs Minister-designate should not go around tarnishing the reputations of others if he cannot accept the same treatment.

“The first thing he did when he appeared before the vetting committee was to insist that the ranking member of the committee apologize to him, his wife, and his family because he felt that some comments by the Minority Leader had smeared his reputation.

“In all fairness, he must also be sensitive to the reputation of others. You don’t go about damaging people’s reputations when you know how much yours matters to you,” he said.
