Mr Simon Madjie has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), succeeding Dr. Bernice Makafui Brempong, who held the position for a brief two weeks.

Dr. Brempong’s reassignment has been shrouded in mystery, with no official explanation provided by the government. However, insider sources suggest that she has been reassigned to a strategic role at the Jubilee House, the seat of government.

Her new position has not yet been publicly disclosed, leaving room for speculation about the factors that prompted the change.

Dr. Brempong, an accomplished economist and public policy expert, was appointed as the CEO of GIPC following years of service in various capacities within Ghana’s public and private sectors.

Her brief tenure at GIPC was seen as a continuation of her commitment to driving investment and economic growth in Ghana.

Simon Madjie, the incoming CEO, brings a wealth of experience to the role. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Executive Secretary of the American Chamber of Commerce, Ghana, where he was instrumental in fostering trade relations between Ghana and the United States.

Under his leadership, the Chamber facilitated several high-profile investment projects and worked to promote Ghana as a preferred destination for foreign direct investment.
