MILLS Institute partakes in Christian Council 2025 Youth Empowerment Programme

The, MILLS (Mindset, Integrity, Loyalty, Leadership & Service) Institute, joined the Christian Council of Ghana (CCG), on Friday, February 07, 2025, for this Year’s Youth Empowerment Summit.

Under the theme, “Ghana My Home My Future: Beyond The Ballot Box”, the well-attended and very engaging event, took place at the Methodist University campus in Dansoman, Accra.

With over 200 participants drawn from mainly the, Methodist Church, Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Church, Ghana, Anglican Church and the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Zion, church, the General Secretary of CCG, Reverend Dr. Cyril Fayose, graced the occasion with his presence and delivered the Opening Address.

The key point in the address of Dr. Fayose, was for the youth to understand that they cannot become leaders unless they submit/subject themselves to proper teaching and making the word of God the light of their paths and lamp of their feet.

Participating in collaboration with the CCG, the MILLS Institute, led by Founder and CEO, Samuel Koku Sitsofe Anyidoho, had its turn to engage the participants.

Focusing mainly on, “Mindset Transformation: The God Factor In Building Ghana”, Mr. Anyidoho stated that the only way forward is for the upcoming generation of leaders to focus deeply on the God factor in both the National Anthem and the National Pledge.

According to Mr. Anyidoho, “our real identity as Ghanaians is not in our individual identities but rather in our collective identity which is embedded in our national symbols. It is not for nothing that the Fathers of Ghana introduced the God factor into two key national symbols, the Anthem and the Pledge. The Anthem begins with God and the Pledge ends with God so we dare not ignore the great importance of God as we strive to build the better Ghana we all yearn for.”

According to Koku Anyidoho, “the MILLS Institute is working closely with the CCG and other stakeholders to be able to consciously mentor and teach the youth how to prepare effectively to take over and succeed as future leaders.

“Until we make a very deliberate and conscious effort to give our future leaders the requisite knowledge/training to equip them for the task ahead, we shall not be doing this nation any good.”

“As a trained theologian from the Trinity Theological Seminary, I understand my calling per the purposes God has for my human existence and after almost 3 decades at the forefront of politics and governance, it is now time to impart knowledge because I have seen many young people rush and crush because of no proper mentoring,” Mr. Anyidoho said.

The Guest Speaker for the event was, Major General Richard Addo Gyane, Commandant of the Kofi Annan International Peace Keeping Training Center (KAIPTC), who also admonished the youth to understand that youth empowerment is not about the youth rushing to take over leadership, but it is more about preparing adequately so when leadership is entrusted to them, they will not fail.

The Key Note Speaker was, Dr. Anthony Baidoo, a Lecturer at the Forest Science Department of the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani. Dr. Baidoo, said that, sacrificing for the nation comes with abundant blessings and that the youth should learn to embrace the spirit of sacrificing.
