The Government will complete the dualisation of the Kasoa-Winneba Road and the construction of other major roads within the Central Region, President John Dramani Mahama, has said.

He noted that late last year, the contract for the first phase of the dualisation of the Kasoa-Winneba Road started and that upon completion, the project would facilitate the movement of goods and services and enhance trade.

He said the second phase of the project would be from the Winneba roundabout to

Mankessim roundabout, while the third phase would be from the Mankessim roundabout to Cape Coast.

“While phase one is ongoing, phase two and phase three will be packaged and funded under our Big Push programme,” President Mahama said in his address in Cape Coast at a durbar of the Chiefs and People of the Central Region during his Thank You Tour.

The nationwide tour, which began on Friday, January 24, in Ho, the Volta Regional Capital is to enable the President to express his sincere appreciation to the people of Ghana for the overwhelming support and trust reposed in him at the 2024 elections.

The President on February 05, addressed a similar durbar in Secondi for the Western Region.

Speaking at the Jubilee Park in Cape Coast, President Mahama said the Government had also targeted important roads, like the Yamoransa-Praso road, and then the Cape Coast to Twifo-Praso road, amongst others.

He said the Mankessim Market was one of the markets targeted by the government for modernisation under its Market Enhancement Programme.

He said their campaign’s success in the 2024 general election was due to the collective efforts of Ghanaians.

“We all share collective responsibility as we embark on this new journey, and I wish to emphasize that I’m a President for all Ghanaians, and I’m committed to fostering unity and inclusivity, and ensuring that no region, no community, or no person is left behind,” President Mahama said.

“Let us set aside our past divisions and move forward in the spirit of collaboration. “Our strength lies in our diversity, and together we will overcome any challenges on our path to progress.

“As we move into this new chapter, our vision for Ghana remains clear, and we are committed to building a prosperous, peaceful, and sustainable nation.”

President Mahama said among the commitments they had made were job creation, especially for their young people.

He noted that the government would invest in programmes and policies that create jobs for the nation’s youth, and provide opportunities for its farmers, entrepreneurs, and workers.

He said their 24-hour economy plan was designed to enhance production, productivity, and employment by creating an enabling environment for businesses in agro-processing, manufacturing, and construction to employ more people through a three-shift system.

The President reiterated the Government’s commitment to infrastructural development of all regions.

He said, “We will prioritize the development of critical infrastructure, including roads, schools, health care facilities, and electrification projects, and provide clean drinking water for our people.”
