Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Defence, has assured that the challenges facing the 37 Military Hospital will soon be resolved.

According to the minister, addressing these issues remains one of the top priorities of the John Dramani Mahama-led administration.

In a social media post on Friday, February 13, Dr. Omane Boamah wrote: “The President John Dramani Mahama government is making frantic efforts to fix some urgent and critical challenges that are vital for the delivery of quality care at the hospital. As we reset Ghana, no problem will be too steep to overcome.”

The assurance followed a visit to the facility on Thursday, February 13, where Dr. Omane Boamah, accompanied by the Chief of the Defence Staff and officials from the Ministry of Defence, interacted with officers, soldiers, civilian employees, and patients.

Reflecting on the visit, Dr. Omane Boamah remarked: “It was a homecoming for me, and I deeply appreciate the warmth exuded by my old working colleagues, seniors, and juniors at the hospital.

“This working visit forms part of my deliberate intention to actively immerse myself in the challenges of the Ghana Armed Forces in order to prescribe tailored and cost-effective solutions. The challenges are numerous but not insurmountable.”

The 37 Military Hospital, one of the largest specialist hospitals in Accra, has long faced several challenges, notably accommodation shortages and the strain of serving both military personnel and civilians.
