Coming events they say cast their shadows. The National Service scandal revealed by the Fourth Estate media organisation in my view is just a tip of the iceberg on the corrupt activities perpetuated by the past Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government. Ghanaians should brace themselves for more stinking, nauseating and provocative revelations on corrupt activities from the past government.
President Mahama deserves commendation for instructing the appropriate authorities to investigate the National Service scandal. The revelation suggest that, the country has lost a significant amount of money to the tune of GHC2.2 billion, this is equates to £118 million or $148 million between 2018 and 2024. Between 2018 and 2019, the plunderers added 49,895 ghost names every single month, 2019 and 2020, they added 36,074 ghost names, 38,972 ghost names between 2020 and 2021, 29,243 ghost names in 2021-2022, 64,069 ghost names between 2022 and 2023, 59,867 ghost names between 2023 and 2024 and 82,885 ghost names between 2024 and 2025. What a bunch of thieves are these NPP officials, they are heartless and inconsiderate.
Why should a few people plunder the country in such a manner when there are no adequate beds in our hospitals, no enough classrooms for our children in schools, no portable drinking water for the masses? This is sheer wickedness
Ghanaians trust the current president to deal with any act of corruption, therefore, this is a test case for president Mahama, the alleged national plunders must be made to face the music, I humbly plead with the president Mahama to show his mettle and deal ruthlessly with these criminals by prosecuting them swiftly after the investigation.
If found guilty, they should not only be jailed, they must be made to vomit every penny from such colossal amount, the current National Democratic Congress government has an obligation to make corruption unattractive in this country President Mahama cannot afford to fail Ghanaians.
Mr President, some of us believe in your determination to fight corruption, because we know you, but there are others there watching and waiting to see how you will deal with these nation wreckers, please show your mettle, be ruthless in this fight.
