The ongoing pogrom in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo raises a critical question: How can the apocalyptic suffering of millions in that region be halted quickly?
To address this, one recommends adopting the Israeli Defence Forces’ “cut off the snake’s head” geopolitical strategic policy objective. This approach could quickly resolve the invasion of eastern DR Congo by Rwanda’s Paul Kagame’s funded private militia, M23.
Furthermore, it is essential to acknowledge that Kagame leads an apartheid African country dominated by Tutsis, which has profited significantly from the pillaging of DR Congo’s mineral wealth by sundry bad actors for decades.
Critics argue that President Paul Kagame’s secret ambition is to lead a new super-rich Tutsi-dominated nation, carved out from a merger of Rwanda and eastern DR Congo, using his M23 militia, which includes Rwandan soldiers.
The African Union (AU) must prevent Kagame’s success, as it would have a domino effect across Africa, undermining the principle of tribal equality in modern Africa. Towards that end, instead of appeasing Kagame, sanctions must rather be imposed on Rwanda immediately – denying it access to all east African region ports. That will bring Kagame to heel swiftly. No question.
